trendspotting: birthday fun!!!

Good Monday morning, friends!  Today is a special day – not only is it a beautiful Monday morning, it’s also a national holiday here in the US – Labor Day – a day to celebrate all of the hard workers who made America such a wonderful country.  But it’s an extra special day in my home.  My oldest son will celebrate his 13th birthday and enter the world of the teenager!  Since I’ve had this special day on my mind, I thought it would be fun to have a special trendspotting day dedicated to birthdays – so here we go, lots and lots of fun birthday related items for scrapbooking, cardmaking, and more!

Of course, this is only a tiny sampling of the amazing birthday products available – and finding birthday items appropriate for a teenage boy is even a bit more difficult…I’d love to hear your product ideas and suggestions – please share in the comment section below!  Happy Monday!

I love all these and agree it’s hard to find almost anything to make a teenage boy card for any occasion! Companies please take note.

Love all those birthday supplies. Boys are more difficult. I used my KaiserCraft little airplane stamp (name: Little Man) It is so versatile and then place a banner behind it. A happy birthday banner.

My 14 year old son loves anything aquatic so I make lots of fish and sea scape cards for his birthday. Stars and “you rock” kinds of sentiments work for teen boys too. Thanks for the chance to win!

Guys can be really hard to create cards for. My son just turned 11 and since I had received this wonderful Kaisercraft Technologic collection as blog candy I was given an opportunity to make a fun techno robot card with muted tones that work for a slightly older boy. I also love the Simple Stories collections (Awesome and Happy Day) for their muted colors but fun imagery that work for celebrations of guys. HTH! Enjoy your new teen!

Love all these products!! …and a lot of it could be used for a teen boy’s card – I’d just add an embellishment to make it personal; a surf board, BMX bike, computer, dvd’s or whatever hobby/like your teen has.
