With the onset of Spring, it seems the opportunities for gift giving are increasing every day. There are baby showers and bridal showers and lots of birthday parties and let’s not forget the “end of school” gifts for teachers, administrators, bus drivers, lunch ladies, and oh so many more who have been part of daily life for our school-age kiddos. I know how important it is to my kids to be able to thank their school “people” with a little gift, and it’s important to me as well – and I enjoy shopping for something unique and fun to share with them. When it comes to wrapping up the gift, however, I struggle. I want to come up with something unique and fun – but purchasing gift wrapping materials can sometimes cost even more than the gift! Here’s where we scrapbookers and paper crafters have a huge advantage! We already have bins and baskets full of fun supplies we can use. As for the bag itself – take a cue from the kids…grab a simple brown lunch bag from the cupboard and start embellishing!
The ideas are endless, but here’s one of the bags I put together – use it as a springboard to get your wheels turning and create all of your gift wrapping for free – especially if you pull out your “scrap basket!”

I’ve been spending a lot of time perusing Pinterest lately – and I am fine with admitting I’m addicted right now. Where else can you go to find so much inspiration in one place? Projects, quotes, recipes, and decor ideas. Oh, and don’t forget amazing scrapbook spaces! That’s where I came across this amazing room, belonging to Katie Tate. I was intrigued by the link on Pinterest, so I clicked over to her blog and I was floored! Katie has a lot of great product and she has come up with a LOT of great ways to organize everything!

After I watched the super sweet (and informational) video Katie has on her blog (here), I knew I had to ask if I could share her room with our blog readers. You have to know I was absolutely thrilled when Katie agreed! She also agreed to a quick little interview – enjoy these photos and Katie’s interview below (oh, and it’s even more fun if you imagine her speaking her answers with her beautiful English accent)!
Where is your space located in relation to your house? The space is our bonus room/game room on the 2nd floor in the center of the house.

I am a HUGE fan of sharing tips & tricks & short-cuts. That’s why, when I learned this trick last weekend at the Big Picture/Doodlebug NSD event, I knew I had to share it with our blog readers! Cynthea, from Doodlebug Design, taught us a really easy way to add stitching to a project. This tip is especially useful if you are wanting to add stitching with heavier threads or string, such as jute or baker’s twine. Are you ready? Here’s the secret:
Yep – floss threaders! If you’ve ever worn braces, you’re likely familiar with this handy little product. But I have to admit, using them on your paper projects is much more fun than flossing your teeth!
Here’s what you’ll need:
